You're SO right about NOT apologizing just for the sake of apologizing... this can do more harm than good. Just like Jamie said, sometimes it can be tough to apologize without seeming desperate... but one of the best things you can do to prevent that is to NOT apologize for everything under the sun!

If you do so, you're guaranteed to come off as desperate, bar none.

About #2... "you must convince her that you are 100 percent committed to change your behavior which led to the break up"...

Here's my take... you CANNOT "convince" her... women do not respond to logic, and there's really no point trying to change her mind about you... you have to SHOW her in your actions. NEVER tell her that you've changed... it's not credible... you have to prove it first and she will take notice.

All in all, great post! I enjoyed it very much.

One of the toughest things to do is apologize without appearing desperate. I think that is where most people make their mistake. If you start over-apologizing or apologizing for things you didn't do in an effort to smooth things over, your ex may lose respect for you.

On the other hand, a sincere apology tells them that you accept responsibility for your part. And that can really open up the channels of communication.

I agree with you 100% Cameron. But the post is about owning up to your part in the break up and apologizing for that. Like you said it takes two to tango but you are the only one who can account for your actions and your part in the break up.
