Relationship Breakups – The 4 Relationship Break Up Categories

If there is a list of the worst emotional trauma someone can suffer then relationship breakups are probably on that list. People yearn to find love and that special someone which they can spend the rest of their lives with. And to have found it and then suddenly lose it can be very devastating.

That is why when you suffer a relationship breakup you will go through a healing process that is similar as when you suffer through the death of someone you love. The death of a relationship is quite the same as the death of someone. The only difference though is that you can bring a relationship back to life.

Relationship breakups do not have to last forever and you can save a relationship but you first need to know about the various types of breakups that exists and how you can approach each one of them.

But knowing what strategies to use to save a relationship does not always mean you will be able to save the relationship. Some relationships are unrepairable and some unhealthy and maybe you should stay away from these but if you know the right strategies most relationships can be saved.

The 4 Relationship Breakups:

1. Abusive Relationship Breakups

This one is easy. Be happy it ended. For one thing no one needs to suffer abuse. I know the old cliche about love is blind and that some people do return to or even stay in a abusive relationship but really no one should take being abused. I mean no one.

2. Mutual Relationship Breakups

This is where both of you decided the relationship is not working out. If the breakup was really mutual then maybe it should then stay that way but if you called it a mutual breakup but it really falls under one of the following two categories then it is a different story all together.

3. They Ended It Relationship Breakups

This is probably the worst kind of breakup. If you fall under this category then your first step to take is to determine why it ended. If you know the why then you must decide if it is something you can fix or even want to fix. If your decision is to try and fix the relationship then this is where you start.

4. You Ended It Relationship Breakups

If you were the one who ended the relationship and then afterwards came to a realization that you made a mistake then your first step must be to try and reestablish trust. You basically need to start the relationship from scratch. It will be a slow process to repair the relationship so be patient and make sure your expectations are realistic.

After looking at the different relationship breakups you will have a clear idea under which category you fall under. Now you can work on what to do now to try and get your relationship repaired or just move on to something better. Also know that you are not alone and that there are help out there to assist you with your relationship breakup.
